Now that we are about to wrap up the year 2017, the beautiful town of Truckee is sure to offer these fun-filled events at the strike of 12:00 in 2018. You wouldn’t want to miss these spectacular celebrations and festivities that Truckee has to offer. 

Here’s the list of what’s up in Truckee as the 2017 year closes and 2018 approaches.


December 26, 2017 – December 31, 2017

Free Shuttle Services

 

For the second year in a row, the Town of Truckee in partnership with local businesses has made getting into Downtown Truckee easy and convenient with FREE shuttle service from Truckee neighborhoods and Northstar! Residents and visitors alike can help reduce congestion by LEAVING the CAR BEHIND this holiday season. Enjoy one of Truckee’s most festive times of the year and forget the traffic and parking hassles! Convenient shuttles will be traveling to and from Downtown Truckee from the local neighborhoods and Northstar. FREE neighborhood shuttles will be providing service to/from Downtown Truckee between 6pm and 2am daily. The neighborhood shuttles will service the following areas: Donner Lake, Sierra Meadows, Brockway, Gateway, Deerfield, West River St., Prosser, Tahoe Donner and Glenshire.MConnections between the neighborhood and resort shuttles can be made in Downtown Truckee at the Truckee Train Depot. FREE nightly resort shuttles will be providing service to/from Downtown Truckee and Northstar between 6pm and 2am daily. Connections between holiday shuttle routes and TART’s free night service can be made nightly at Northstar.

All That Glitters Kaleidoscope Party - New Year's Eve 2017
Lake Tahoe’s swankiest, sexiest New Year’s Eve party will throw you into a whirlwind of color, glitz and glamour as you dance the night away. Enjoy live entertainment by Tahoe Flow Arts silk aerialists, music, libations, bottle service (need we say more?) and take a break from the dance floor on VIP beds, draped in sheer linens. Pre-party dinner will include a variety of entrée stations and cash bar prior to a live show that kicks off the night. Drown in fun as though you snapped your fingers and traveled worlds away to Miami, Paris, Vegas…anywhere your heart desires.

Full Moon Snowshoe Tour - Wolf Moon (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM PST)
This exciting tour promises this...
"We will meet your group and preview the trip. Time will be spent fitting gear and a comprehensive lesson will be covered. You will trek on our easy to use snowshoes through Tahoe's peaceful, wintry forest. As we travel by moonlight, our knowledgeable guides will discuss natural history and astronomy topics as well as fascinating facts about our moon. We will also stop under the moon or in the alpenglow to take in the beautiful views and enjoy snacks and hot drinks! This unique trip is popular with all levels of nature enthusiasts. Be sure to grab your cameras, as the views are spectacular!"

Level of Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. All activity levels welcome. Ages 8 and up.

Open Studio Upholstery/Intro to Industrial Machines and Industrial Machine Check-Out with Rosemary and Rez-$30

 (Tuesday: 12-4PM or 6-9PM)
In this class you can bring your own project to upholster or come get acquainted with the industrial machines and learn from the unique projects others are upholstering. This class is suitable for first timers as well as seasoned sewers.

The group is open to all knitters, crocheters, loom artists ... whatever your thread, you are welcome. This is a NOT a class, it's a group intended for individuals who enjoy the company of other yarn artists. Anybody can bring his/her project or start a new one, come for a few minutes or the whole two hours! Participants can bring their own supplies. If you need supplies, Atelier offers an array of needles, yarn and even looms.
They hope to bring our yarn arts community in the Truckee/Tahoe/Reno area closer together and offer a space to do so.
