From the shores of Lake Tahoe to surrounding mountain summits and everywhere in between, summer is the ultimate time to embrace culture, music, dance, art and so much more. Enjoy everything from week-long celebrations of life in the mountains and human powered sports to summerlong theater and world-renowned yoga and wellness retreats.

MAY 2

1.MYSTERY MULTIPLIER WEDNESDAYS AT TAHOE BILTMORE

Tahoe Biltmore’s revamped and renovated secret slot play has a new way to win. Each Wednesday from noon until midnight, play on your Club Biltmore Players Card and qualify to to be entered in  “Mystery multiplier” with a chance to win up to a 20x’s bonus multiplier.

2.GATHERING OF ARTISTS

Led by professional working artist Heidi Reeves, artists of all levels and mediums are invited to bring their latest projects to work on in shared studio space and support one another during the creative process. First and third Wednesdays of each month.

3.Buggy Bootcamp - Stroller-Based Fitness

This is a stroller-based fitness program for busy moms to get a heart-pumping workout with the friendship, support and fun of other moms. Bring your babe(s) along in their stroller as you perform cardio drills, body weight exercises, a wide variety of interval training, plyometrics and core work. Class always ends with the opportunity for kids (and moms) to play together.
Class is led by an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and designed for all fitness levels.

4.Mountain High BNI Hosts Truckee Chamber Mixer

Enjoy music by Tahoe Truckee School of Music, wine from the Pour House and food prepared by Ron Wainscoate, Food and Chef Services.

MAY 3

1. Skiing for Schools Discount Lift Tickets

Ticket holders can enjoy flexibility in terms of when lift tickets can be used, as resorts offer validity throughout the season to get on the slopes, save money and contribute to the success of local students.

2. Pilates Month

May is for Pilates! 
In celebration of Pilates Day we are offering NEW STUDENT drop in's for only $10 during the month of May! The $10 new student drop in's are for our BASIC Pilates Reformer classes on MONDAYS @ 3:30 pm & THURSDAYS @ 4:30 pm and SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS @ 11:30 AM! If you're brand new to Pilates or wanting to check out our Pilates studio, this is a wonderful place to start!

MAY 4

1. LES MILLS THE TRIP 13

TRIP 13 – IS SO COOL!!We explore the jungle and eventually make our way up a river and hit the base of a large volcano. It’s at this point the workout goes next level with 3 minutes of serious climbing just before things go really crazy.What we love about this release is how the music fits the environment we are in. The mix of uplifting and tribal beats are punctuated with high-octane rock and big drops.

1. PILATES DAY @ TAHOE MOUNTAIN FITNESS – FREE CLASSES!

Come celebrate International Pilates Day with us at Tahoe Mountain Fitness! Pilates Day presents an extraordinary opportunity for the Pilates community to unite in celebration of everything Joseph and Clara Pilates brought to the world.

2. CHRIS COSTA AT THE TAHOE BILTMORE

By consistently providing the best in musical entertainment Chris Costa has risen to become one of Nevada’s top entertainer. He is also a veteran of hundreds of successful Corporate and Private Events. With 35 years experience in so many styles of music and nearly 1000 songs in his impressive repertoire he will make your night memorable.

3. 28th Annual Cushing Crossing at Squaw Valley

Every year we gather a celebrity judging panel and amazing emcee's for this spectacle. Filled with big spills and laughable thrills, this is one spring event that you don't want to miss. Event kicks off at 1pm, awards to follow directly after the event at the Pond.

MAY 6

1. Lord's Gym Kids Mud Run 2018

The Lord's Gym Kids Mud Run in Oroville is a special obstacle race open to all kids ages 4-12. The race course is under a mile long with 20+ obstacles involving climbing, crawling, running and, of course, lots of mud!

2. Art of Mixology

This entertaining, educational experience will feature freshly cut herbs, classic ingredients such as bitters and infused liquors to create three unique cocktails paired with appetizers. Price exclusive of tax and gratuity, minimum age applies for participation. 24-hour advance reservations are required.

1. Chronic Illness Support Group

Our goal is to provide a safe environment to discuss and explore the ways in which our lives have been changed by chronic illness and/or pain. Let’s help and support each other in order to live a lighter and happier life—in spite of what ails us!

2. Song Group with Tahoe Truckee School of Music

Song group for everyone!  Any instrument, any experience level, any age.  Led by Ben Martin.

1. Good Morning Truckee: Fire & Fuel Management Programs + Voter Information

Good Morning Truckee is a community forum to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.

2. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & COMPANY CULTURE BUSINESS SEMINAR

Fast-paced results oriented leadership seminar taught by Billy Thompson, CEO of Lumegent, a national consulting agency based in Northern Nevada.You’ll learn practical techniques to shape your leadership messages and engage in powerful conversations that achieve results, helping you create and sustain unique opportunities and more impactful relationships.

MAY 11

1. Community Showing of the film "Trigger: The Ripple Effect of Gun Violence."

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has embarked on a campaign to prevent gun violence. At the forefront of this effort is the documentary Trigger: The Ripple Effect of Gun Violence, which examines the ripple effect that one shooting has on a survivor, family, community, and society. It is a story told from the perspective of those who have been directly impacted and those who are called daily to respond to this ongoing tragedy.

MAY 12

1. SIDEWALK SATURDAY’S

Join the fun on the second Saturday of the month in Tahoe City. Enjoy a day of shopping and FUN in downtown Tahoe City with super specials, Sip n’ Shop, music, and more! Business owners create their own highlights — restaurants may offer a special entrée, drink, or dessert and participating businesses highlight special products. The fun gets started at 12 noon and lasts until 5pm.

1. MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH AT GRANLIBAKKEN TAHOE

Enjoy a special Mother’s Day Brunch in North Lake Tahoe at Granlibakken Tahoe. Brunch will be served from 7-11AM on May 13, and will include a buffet featuring all of your brunch favorites. Mom will feel special with complimentary mimosas and flowers, and live music will accompany the brunch from 7-11AM.

2. Mountain Minds Monday - Virtual Reality: The Path to the Future

Come learn how this can help create a culture of innovation and empathy and perhaps you’ll be one of a lucky few who can try out the virtual reality headsets for yourself.

1. AquaHIIT at Truckee Community Pool 9am

AquaHIIT is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class that guarantees to get your heart pumping and burn calories. Combining periods of intense exercise and varying amounts of rest, this 55 minute class will burn fat, improve muscle tone, build strength and leave you feeling energized and motivated.

1. Open Mic Night at Art Truckee

All levels welcome for open mic night at Art Truckee - singers, actors, poets, and more! Every third Friday of the month. Sign up early for your time slot or just show up!

1. 5th Annual Collins Memorial WOD

AWS3 Brian A. Collins was our friend, fellow CrossFitter, Truckee local, and most importantly, a son, brother and husband. We miss him tremendously and like to celebrate him every year with the Collins Memorial WOD (Work Out Day). This year marks #5, and we’d be honored if you would save the date and plan to join us on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

3. Sierra Speaker Series: Snowbound! with Mark McLaughlin

Award-winning Tahoe Weather Historian Mark McLaughlin’s newest book covers the Top 10 biggest winters in the Tahoe Sierra, based on snowfall measured at Donner Pass. Residents and travelers in the Sierra Nevada endured some of the most brutal winter storms in the world. Snowfall measured in feet, 200 miles per hour wind gusts, and destructive avalanches. This fast-paced snapshot presentation captures the compelling stories and dramatic images of railroad and highway crews fighting mountain blizzards and deadly avalanches from historic winters past. SNOWBOUND! was awarded Best Non-Fiction Book in 2017 by the Northern California Publishers & Authors Association.

1. Truckee Quality of Life - FlashVote Survey: Play

Got one minute to make Truckee better? Truckee Chamber and Town of Truckee have partnered with FlashVote, the rapid App that makes feedback for local governments quick and easy. Take the "Play" survey May 23 through May 25.

MAY 25

1. Friday Sunset Kayak Tours

This kayak trip is a great way to end a full day. Offered every Friday as well as other days by reservation. We meet at sunset and get on the water to watch the colors change and the stars appear. We'll cover some astronomy and tour the perfect distance before landing on the beach for some hot drinks, snacks, and more stargazing.

1. The Little Big Bike Festival

A bike festival for everyone! The Little Big Bike Festival is entering its 7th year and it's already looking to be our largest yet. Little people, Big people. Little jumps, Big jumps. Little progressions, Big progressions. Our participants cover a wide age span ranging from 2–60 years old. This event continues to grow the sport by teaching individuals to be comfortable on their bike, have fun and create a foundation of fundamentals to progress in their riding.

2. Hike Lower Carpenter Valley

ruckee Donner Land Trust invites you on a guided hike in the magnificent Lower Carpenter Valley. Minutes from Truckee but hidden from view, Carpenter Valley offers grand scenery, lush meadows carpeted by wildflowers, and the chance to see wildlife in its natural environs. Unlike other Land Trust properties, access to Lower Carpenter Valley is only available on 5 mile moderate docent-led hikes this summer while we work to install trails and parking to better protect this hotspot for biodiversity.

3. Made in Tahoe Festival

Made in Tahoe celebrates all things LOCAL. The Village at Squaw Valley will host a wide array of offerings that are made or inspired in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee areas - local artisans, businesses, chefs/cuisine, organizations and entertainers. Discover, explore and experience our special community rich with talented creators from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. The weekend also marks the opening of the Aerial Tram for the summer season.

MAY 28

1. Full Moon Kayak Tour

Float in a kayak on the clear blue water while the sun sets the sky on fire, the full moon rises, and the stars twinkle! Increase your knowledge of astronomy with jaw dropping views of Lake Tahoe illuminated by the light of the full moon. We paddle for about two hours before landing on the beach to cap it all off with hot drinks, snacks, and more stargazing on the beach.

MAY 29

1. Tuesday Thunderbird Lodge Kayak Tours

Explore the Thunderbird Lodge Historic Site and arrive by Kayak! We start our adventure at the beautiful Sand Harbor State Beach on Lake Tahoe's magnificent East Shore. Arriving to Thunderbird Lodge, our knowledgeable tour guides take visitors on an hour walk throughout the Whittell estate, including the Lighthouse Room, the Old Lodge, the maids' quarters and original kitchen, as well as a trip through the 600' underground tunnel leading to the infamous Card House and Boat House.

2. Full Moon Snowshoe Tour - Flower Moon

This unique trip is popular with all levels of nature enthusiasts.  Be sure to grab your cameras, as the views are spectacular!
